Wet Meadow – Clear and Burn cut material. Dead hedging. Excavating backwater pond (bring wellies if you have them)Meeting at Perry Street Car Park at 09:45 for a 10 am start. (Please do not worry if you arrive a little late there will be a note left on the noticeboard informing all volunteers where we are working)
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
We meet in the Old Perry Street Car Park at 9.45 for a 10.00am start.
The leader will explain the conservation purpose of the work and supply the tools needed.
No experience is required and there are typically a variety of tasks to choose from depending on your level of skill/fitness. We usually work for a couple of hours with a tea break. Everyone is very welcome.
This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the future of this beautiful park and see areas that are not open to the public.
Bring stout boots/wellingtons, and gardening gloves. Children must be supervised. Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs on these workdays for safety reasons.
Maintenance Workdays – Lead by Andrew Harby (Thursday) & Elaine Blewitt (Saturday)
